A crow in a dream signifies unlawful intimacy, stinginess, arrogance, boastfulness, or a quarrelsome nature. It also points to someone who hides wicked deeds and intentions. Hunting crows foretells illicit earnings gained through trickery and dishonesty. A crow perched on the roof of one’s house indicates that the wife is secretly involved with one of the husband’s companions. When a crow speaks in a dream, it announces the birth of a son who will grow up dishonest and depraved; it may also mean passing through sadness followed by relief. Eating crow flesh means obtaining money from robbers. A crow standing before a court of justice warns of committing a grave wrong and bearing its penalty, or even murdering a brother and later regretting it. A crow scratching a person’s face foretells death from sickness or perishing from cold in a winter forest. Receiving a crow as a gift brings joy. A hooded crow symbolizes long life, a prosperous elder, or amazement at something unexpected. A crow landing on a respected household means a corrupt man will wed a virtuous woman from that family. A piebald crow indicates calamity striking one’s son; owning one points to raising a wayward child, while slaughtering it brings tidings from afar. If that piebald crow speaks, it foretells a son of shameful character. A flock of crows inside the house promises lasting wealth and respect, yet it may also represent backbiters and slanderers. In general, a crow stands for a fierce fighter concerned only with personal gain, a gravedigger, bearer of ill news, mismanagement of life or trade, distant travel, hardship, cursing others, or a person who mixes virtue with vice. A jackdaw signifies crop failure. Fighting a crow means clashing with a person of similar traits. Holding a crow in the hand denotes vanity and self-delusion. A crow inside one’s business premises signals the presence of a dishonest employee. Hunting crows yields unlawful profit.
