Seeing a cloven hoof (Arabic: ḥāfir مفروش or khuf مشقوق – the split hoof of animals such as goats, sheep, cows, deer, camels, etc.) in a dream is a symbol that carries predominantly heavy and warning connotations, although the exact meaning depends strongly on the context and the feelings experienced during the vision. The primary interpretations of a cloven hoof in a dream are: Toiling and extreme hardship: the split hoof is the part that bears the full weight of the animal while it walks over rough terrain, therefore it represents back-breaking labour, exhausting effort, constant struggle for livelihood, or carrying heavy burdens that leave the dreamer weary both physically and spiritually. Evil and the works of Shayṭān: animals with cloven hooves are sometimes linked to the accursed Shayṭān (who is described in some narrations as appearing with such hooves), so the symbol can indicate the presence of evil, temptation, enmity, black magic, or falling into sin and misguidanceSexual intercourse: because the hoof is part of the animal’s leg and legs in dreams frequently symbolise movement toward desire, many classical authorities state that seeing or especially touching a cloven hoof may represent illicit sexual relations, strong carnal desire, adultery, or lawful intercourse if the animal is permissible and the context is positive. If the dreamer is married and the hoof belongs to a clean, healthy animal, it can simply mean normal marital relations.
