Moon
Moon. (Contemplation, satellite) In dreams, the moon symbolizes a just ruler, his prime minister, a renowned scholar, a handsome youth, a tyrant, or a deceiver. Seeing the moon in its natural place in the sky signifies the chief minister of the land. If one sees the moon resting in his lap, it indicates marriage. Sitting under moonlight and conversing with a friend points to reverie, fantasy, and idle talk. If a woman dreams that the moon falls into her house and she takes it and wraps it like a swaddled infant, it means she will give birth to a son who will soon die, bringing her deep sorrow. Seeing the moon turn dark means the dismissal of the chief minister. If the moon advances ahead of the sun, it indicates that the minister will rebel against his ruler. When the moon vanishes from the sky, it means stagnation in business or the failure of a request to materialize, whether good or bad, and if it reappears, it means the fulfillment of what is sought, again whether beneficial or harmful. A luminous and shining moon represents justice and prosperity. Seeing the moon inside one’s home indicates the arrival of a guest or a traveller. Seeing it lying on the ground signifies the death of one’s mother, while walking upon the moon reflects affection and devotion toward one’s mother. The sun and the moon together represent one’s father and mother. Seeing one’s own face reflected in the moon foretells death, but if one’s wife is pregnant and he sees his likeness in the moon, it brings glad tidings of a son. Suddenly seeing the moon while gazing at the sky means triumph over enemies. Holding the moon indicates receiving a gift from a ruler or a wealthy person. If a ruler sees the moon dim, it means his people will revolt against him. If the moon transforms into the sun, it signifies honor and wealth coming through one’s father or wife. The moon may also represent one’s wife, children, siblings, property, business, profession, a vessel, a ship, or journeys. For the sick or the traveller, seeing the moon can indicate destruction or death. If clouds veil the moon, it signifies a brief illness, and seeing the moon through clouds indicates losing one’s job. For a wealthy person, clouds covering the moon mean loss of wealth. If the moon speaks to someone, it means attaining a high-ranking position. If a pregnant woman sees herself reaching for the moon without success, it reflects her wish to bear a son. Prostrating to the sun or the moon means committing a grave sin, while seeing the sun and moon prostrating before oneself means one’s parents are pleased with him. If the moon splits into two, it indicates harm befalling a great person or the manifestation of a major divine sign in that place. A lunar eclipse, or the moon becoming dull or reddish, signals major changes in one’s life. The moon can also symbolize a close companion, an unjust governor, his minister or aide, a gambler, an oath, recovery from illness, or eye trouble. Seeing a full moon at the beginning of the lunar month, when it should be a crescent, signifies benefit, while the reverse implies harm. The moon may also represent a scholar, astrologer, astronomer, or guide. Seeing it at its highest point denotes honor and blessings, while seeing it at its lowest point indicates the opposite. Seeing the moon in Aries signifies benefit for one seeking the favor of powerful people, though it may be unfavorable for builders. In Taurus, it means losses for a travelling merchant. In Gemini, it denotes profit from farming and livestock. In Cancer, it indicates a favorable time for marriage and conception. In Leo, it signifies poor outcomes for partnerships, investments, or shared capital. In Virgo, it is favorable for health and fitness. In Libra, it signifies loss of fluid for a pregnant woman. In Scorpio, it indicates benefit for health or acquiring new clothes, though it may be unfavorable for travellers. In Sagittarius, it signals a bad time for planting or sowing. Joined with Capricorn, it is an unfavorable sign for construction, laying foundations, or starting a business. In Aquarius, it means a bad time for sending messages or undertaking ventures. In Pisces, it is favorable for contracts and attaining leadership. Seeing the sun, moon, and all planets gathered and shining brilliantly means one’s words carry weight with people of authority, while seeing them without light signifies calamity. Seeing suns and moons on all sides, above, ahead, and behind indicates disaster and defeat that force one to flee, yet without escape. (Also see Astrologer, Crescent, Eclipse, Night)
