(Strike, Blow, Lash, Whip) Striking another with a rod in a dream signifies reviving something lost, probing the reason for a demise, or uncovering hidden matters. Using a wooden staff to strike someone indicates breaking a commitment or deceiving that person. When a superior strikes a subordinate, it foretells granting an increase in salary. Striking the back suggests settling an outstanding amount. Hitting the buttocks points to offering one's daughter in marriage. A blow to the head reveals a wish for the other's role or envy toward him. Striking between the eyes means desiring the person to depart. Generally, striking another may imply scolding, criticizing, or offending him, or serving as guidance. A strike over the skull allowing the struck to achieve eloquence and success. Hitting the earlobe until blood flows warns that the attacker may violate the victim's daughter. The interpretation of any strike depends on the body part involved. (See Body). Such acts also represent earnest pleas. Striking a donkey suggests one earns livelihood only through consistent prayer. Cursing accompanies a head blow one cannot retract. Hitting a relative indicates the spouse's unfaithfulness. It may also bring advantage to the struck or signify commercial setbacks. Receiving blows means gains unless delivered by an angel, a departed soul, or kin. Using a belt or cane foretells negative outcomes in reality. Striking the ground signals an upcoming journey. One hundred lashes on the back denote adultery committed or contemplated. Forty lashes indicate indulgence in wine or drugs. Eighty lashes mean defaming chaste women. Whipping by the deceased warns of erroneous pursuits and urges correction, as the dead reside in the realm of truth and obey only God Almighty. Yet beating a deceased person may reflect the dreamer's own firmness and power.
